HOW TO GET MONSTER HELMS

Helms will drop from the final boss on a veteran group dungeon. Each dungeon will drop a specific set. For example, Wayrest Sewers I will drop Slimecraw, whereas, Depths of Malatar will drop Symphony of Blades. When you loot the final boss you will be awarded the helm in one of the three weights based on the item set curation rules. If you are not familiar with item set curation, it would work as follows: If you do not have any pieces collected for that set you may receive any of the three weights. If you have the light helm previously collected and bound to your account you will get either the medium or heavy helm. If you have the medium helm previously collected and bound you will get either the light or heavy helm, and so on. If you have all three helms collected it will just drop a helm at random in any weight.

HOW TO GET MONSTER SHOULDERS

Unlike the helms, shoulders will drop from Undaunted Coffers. These coffers are purchased from an Undaunted Pledge Master using Undaunted Keys. If you need to know how many keys you have available you can check under the currency tab in your inventory. You can find the Pledge Masters at any of the Undaunted Enclave locations which can be found in Grahtwood, Mournhold and Stormhaven. You can purchase a coffer box for 8 Undaunted keys, which will give you a 1 in 6 chance at receiving the shoulder you need - fortunately these coffers follow item set curation rules so at most you will need to spend 48 keys to get what you need. Each coffer offers shoulders from two specific dungeons in one of the three weights. Each Pledge Master also sells a mystery coffer which includes one shoulder piece from ANY of the dungeons they manage for one Undaunted Key plus a bonus change to receive a shoulder style page. 

 

HOW TO EARN UNDAUNTED KEYS

Once you hit level 45 you will receive an invitation inviting you to become a member of the Undaunted. Visit your faction’s home city and talk to a recruiter. If you are part of the Aldmeri Dominion (Yellow) visit Vukhel Guard in Auridon, if you are part of the Daggerfall Covenant (Blue) visit Daggerfall in Glenumbra and finally if you are part of the Ebonheart Pact (Red) visit Davon’s Watch in Stonefalls. Once you do you will be asked to complete a specific dungeon and once you return you will be initiated. Complete your initiation by talking to the Pledge Masters receiving your first Undaunted Key as a reward. Once a member, you can then visit any Undaunted Enclave and speak with the Pledge Masters to receive three daily quests. Those quests will ask you to complete 3 different dungeons. If you complete a dungeon on normal mode you will receive one key and if you complete the dungeon on veteran hard mode you will receive two keys. You can do these three quests once per day, per character. 

 

GOLDEN VENDOR ALTERNATIVE

One other option to getting Monster Set pieces without going into dungeons is to check out the Golden Vendor each week. The Golden Vendor is a special vendor that appears only on the weekends in your faction's main gate in Cyrodiil. If you need some help queuing up for Cyrodiil you can check out our Intro to PvP guide which will walk you through it. We promise that no PvP will be required so don’t worry if PvP is not your jam. The Golden Vendor offers Monster Set pieces from two different sets and will either offer helms or shoulders from week to week. The items will be purchasable for either Gold or Alliance Points. While the price tag is a bit higher at 100,000 Gold or 200,000 AP it may save you from running the more difficult dungeons or having to suffer through bad RNG drops from the coffers. This option may also take a bit longer to get the pieces you need over the option to run the dungeons or complete pledges for keys.
